OVC is excited to see you in person in New Orleans at the upcoming National Joint Training Conference for VOCA Victim Assistance and Compensation Administrators!

The conference is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6th – Thursday, August 8th, 2024, with pre-conference sessions on the afternoon of Monday, August 5. Please make sure to register for this year’s conference and access additional information on lodging and the New Orleans area on the Conference website here.

Note: registration for the conference and open house is primarily only open to staff from VOCA State Administering Agencies. Anyone outside of this group can reach out to [email protected].

New Administrators’ Open House (OVC Pre-Conference Session)

This year, OVC will host a New Administrators’ Open House on Monday, August 5th, 1:00–3:00 p.m., where we will provide a brief history of VOCA and the Crime Victims Fund and highlight OVC resources available to you. There will be time to meet with your OVC grant manager, TA providers, and fellow administrators. This session precedes pre-conference sessions hosted by the National Association of VOCA Assistance Administrators and the National Association of Crime Victim Compensation Boards, which will be held 3:30–5:00 p.m. Monday.

We also hope you will check out the VOCA 101 conference track designed for our newer VOCA Assistance and Compensation administrators and those that may need a refresher! Throughout the conference agenda, you’ll see five VOCA 101 Compensation and five VOCA 101 Assistance sessions covering a variety of topics including: policy development, supplanting, program income, subrecipient oversight, trauma-informed practices, federal grant oversight, and much more.

Thank you to all our administrators and partners that submitted a record number of session proposals this year. These have all been carefully reviewed and considered by a joint planning committee comprised of VOCA Compensation and Assistance administrators. This joint effort ensured that we’ve created an agenda that meets the training needs you identified for us.

As a reminder, attendance at the annual VOCA conference is a requirement in the special conditions of both VOCA Victim Assistance and Victim Compensation awards. If you have a conflict with attending the conference or sending at least one key grantee official from your office, please make sure to contact your OVC grant manager.

See you all in New Orleans!
