Teen dating violence

Survivors.org provides support and healing tools for survivors of sexual violence. This website can help survivors find local service providers, hotlines, holistic healing resources, and community-specific support. This OVC-funded project is operated by PAVE (Promoting Awareness | Victim Empowerment).

This initiative promotes awareness of healthy dating relationships by making vital resources accessible to help teens experiencing dating violence and offering tips on preventing abusive relationships. The Loveisrespect.org helpline provides 24/7 phone (866-331-9474), text (text: LOVEIS to 22522) and chat services to victims of dating violence; service providers and allied professionals; and concerned parents, friends and other members of the community.

Dating Matters is an initiative to help adolescents form healthy relationships to prevent dating abuse before it starts. This national effort is designed to motivate adolescents to challenge harmful beliefs about dating abuse and take steps to form respectful relationships.

Building off a long history of research in the area of intimate partner violence, the National Institute of Justice is now looking to relationships during adolescence to understand the factors that put individuals at risk for involvement in abusive romantic relationships as adults.
