“For human trafficking victims, a necessary step along the road to healing is stable housing, where they are free from intimidation, harassment and persecution, and most importantly provided a stable environment,” said OVC Director Jessica E. Hart.

Through the FY 2020 Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Human Trafficking grant program, the first OVC program focused on transitional housing, grantees will provide 6 to 24 months of transitional or short-term housing assistance for trafficking victims, including rental, utilities or related expenses, such as security deposits and relocation costs. The grants will also provide funding for support needed to help victims locate permanent housing, secure employment, as well as occupational training and counseling.
