Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2021, $450,000)

The Project PROTECT (Philadelphia Response & Outreach To End Child Trafficking) will support the continued advancement of Philadelphia’s juvenile human trafficking court, Working to Restore Adolescent Power (WRAP Court), and related programs serving child victims of human trafficking. The applicant proposes to collaborate with the Family Court of Philadelphia, Department of Human Services, District Attorney’s Office and numerous public and private agencies. Project PROTECT will address court processes and legal representation, interdisciplinary trauma-informed service planning and court engagement, infrastructure-building, data collection and analysis, cross-system coordination, and training and community awareness. By subgrant, the Family Court of Philadelphia will create the new position of WRAP Court Coordinator. Job responsibilities will include the following: maintain the court docket and roster of participants, collect data, prepare written service/treatment plans based on a case team’s recommendations, convene the MDT/case planning team meetings, and liaise with the Court.
