Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $400,000)
The purpose of this award, one of several projects funded under the Services for Victims of Human Trafficking Grant Program, is to allow Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach (APILO) to provide timely and high-quality comprehensive services for all victims of human trafficking as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000, as amended, and to enhance interagency coordination in the provision of services to trafficking victims over a two year project period. APILO will leverage all local, state, and federal resources to ensure the provision of trauma-informed, culturally competent services to male and female victims of sex trafficking and labor trafficking identified or living in San Francisco and Oakland California, Bay Area Region. In addition, the grantee will provide training to service providers and allied professionals within the target community to improve community collaboration and increase awareness of the needs and rights of trafficking victims and survivors. ca/ncf
