Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2019, $499,972)

Under the FY 2018 Integrated Services for Minor Victims of Trafficking program, all grantees are required to serve all minor victims (boys and girls under age 18) of all forms of human trafficking (sex and labor). The grantee will work with OVC Program Managers and Training and Technical Assistance Providers to ensure all victims are served. Georgia Cares will enhance this statewide network for child victims of trafficking in Georgia, with a focus on areas outside of the metro-Atlanta area. Georgia Cares is the single statewide victim service agency serving minor victims of human trafficking. Under this project, Care Coordinators will travel to the youth in any county and in setting: foster homes, the community, juvenile detention, etc., to provide one-on-one evidence-based services. In addition, Georgia Cares’ model is designed to equip and collaborate with providers throughout the state to connect youth to services within their community. This project will fund additional Care Coordinators and one Resource Coordinator at Georgia Cares to serve an additional 40 confirmed youth per year and focus on filling gaps in services by coordinating, and training youth-serving providers across the state.
