Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $376,366)

The goal of the FY 2020 Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Human Trafficking Program is to support housing assistance for victims of all forms of human trafficking throughout the United States, as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000, as amended. Funding through this solicitation supports programs that provide 6 to 24 months of transitional housing with support services to victims of human trafficking who are in need of housing as a result of human trafficking. Funding will be provided over a three-year project period. Under 21, d.b.a. Covenant House New York (CHNY), will implement a new Housing Assistance Program for Victims of Human Trafficking in New York City. The program will provide in-depth service planning to homeless youth who have experienced trafficking, and/or who are at risk of exploitation – reaching beyond the crisis shelter population that our current program focuses on by connecting young adults to our transitional housing program. CHNY will also be able to offer more permanency planning services to youth in our crisis shelter and safe house by working closely with Housing Specialists across CHNY’s housing continuum. All services will be delivered at CHNY’s main service center in Midtown Manhattan, or at one of our Bronx satellite sites. CA/NCF
