Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $499,995)

The goal of the FY 2020 Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Human Trafficking Program is to support housing assistance for victims of all forms of human trafficking throughout the United States, as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000, as amended. Funding through this solicitation supports programs that provide 6 to 24 months of transitional housing with support services to victims of human trafficking who are in need of housing as a result of human trafficking. Funding will be provided over a three-year project period. The CHANCE (Citrus Helping Adolescent Negatively Impacted by Commercial Exploitation) Program will expand to provide safe, stable housing for 6 to 24 months and services to victims of human trafficking who are in need of housing as a result of human trafficking in Miami-Dade County. The program is expected to provide safe and stable housing for at least 15 participants a year for 40 unduplicated over three years. The 15 housing assistance slots will include transitional apartment units, shared living in single-family homes or financial assistance to rent a market rate apartment in the community. In addition, trauma-informed behavioral health and other human trafficking supportive services will also be provided. This includes individual and family therapy, housing case management and peer support services. The program will be operated in collaboration with the State of Florida child welfare service providers, the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust, law enforcement and the courts. CA/NCF
