Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $750,000)

The goal of the FY 2020 Services for Victims of Human Trafficking Programs is to enhance the quality and quantity of services available to victims of human trafficking, as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000, as amended. Funding through this program supports direct services to victims of sex trafficking and labor trafficking, as well as for efforts to increase the capacity of communities to respond to human trafficking through the development of interagency partnerships, professional training, and public awareness activities over a three-year project period. Wayne County (WC) SAFE will expand and enhance the trauma informed human trafficking (HT) services it currently provides to survivors of HT by providing more intensive case management to HT survivors. These services will be augmented through WC SAFE’s peer support and healing services. Simultaneously, WC SAFE will work to engage with the community and its partners to raise awareness about HT, help partners identify potential victims of HT, and provide partners with steps to take on behalf of HT survivors.   CA/NCF.
