The purpose of this program is to develop, expand, or strengthen victim service programs for victims of human trafficking, to include enhancing the capacity of law enforcement and other stakeholders to identify victims and provide justice for those victims through the investigation and prosecution of their traffickers. This award made to The Office of the Alabama Attorney General is funded under FY 2020 Enhanced Collaborative Model Task Force to Combat Human Trafficking which is designed to This grant will provide an opportunity to address the need to establish consistent statewide training, enforcement, and reporting, as well as provide comprehensive victims services by identifying additional partners for collaboration in the development and implementations of consistent training, development of a statewide response for human trafficking cases, formalizing a referral process to provide comprehensive services for human trafficking victims, and develop a consistent data-gathering method. Indeed, developing a statewide task force with stakeholders within the law enforcement community, service provider community, and local community leaders will provide a cohesive entity that can centralize efforts and be a resource to combat human trafficking throughout the state. At its infancy, the task force will seek to build partnerships beyond those initially obtained for this application to ensure that stakeholders throughout Alabama to build a task force to address this issue on all fronts CA/NCF.
