Description
The strategy to Enhance Law Enforcement Response to Victims (ELERV) was released in 2009 to provide tools and information to assist law enforcement around the nation to better respond to crime victims’ needs. The ELERV Technical Assistance Project will formally evaluate the ELERV Strategy released in 2009 so that it can be promoted as an evidence-based practice. Phase One (Planning Phase) of the project includes selecting three medium size law enforcement agency demonstration sites and conducting site visits to conduct needs assessments and provide TA as the sites begin developing their implementation plans. The chosen pilot sites will be formally evaluated in consultation with NIJ. In Phase Two (Nationwide Implementation), based on lessons learned in Phase One, IACP will develop and execute a dissemination plan of the ELERV Strategy to law enforcement agencies throughout the nation.
