Johnathan Bridbord | Federal Service Award
U.S. Department of Justice, Criminal Division, Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section
Washington, DC

Johnathan Bridbord is the Lead Computer Forensic Specialist in the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section within the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. As part of his duties, Mr. Bridbord conducts forensic analyses of seized computer systems, mobile devices, and media; and provides investigative and analytical support to prosecutors and law enforcement agents to identify and rescue victims of child exploitation, identify online child pornography offenses, and develop strategies for gathering evidence.

Mr. Bridbord was the driving force behind the development and implementation of the Victim Impact Statement Application (VISA). The design and implementation of VISA was driven by a fundamental goal to provide prosecutors and victim witness coordinators nationwide with an automated, secure, reliable, and efficient approach to obtaining a digital copy of a victim impact statement in exchange for information about the case in which the statement is to be used during sentencing of defendants in child pornography cases.

Mr. Bridbord worked tirelessly with in-house information technology database developers, systems engineers, network engineers, Justice Management Division information security personnel, and a select number of Project Safe Childhood federal prosecutors to ensure the requirements for the functionality of VISA were successfully implemented.
