Executive Order on Improving Public Safety and Criminal Justice for Native Americans and Addressing the Crises of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People
The U.S. Departments of the Interior (DOI) and Justice (DOJ), in coordination with the Departments of Health and Human Services, Energy, and Homeland Security, are seeking Tribal and stakeholder input related to the policy directives outlined in Executive Order 14053-lmproving Public Safety and Criminal Justice for Native Americans and Addressing the Crisis of Missing or Murdered Indigenous People.

Meeting the Public Safety and Criminal Justice Needs of Native Americans
On March 16 and 17, 2022, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) will also hold government-to-government consultations on DOJ's efforts to address the unacceptably high rate of violent crime in Native communities, including the rates of missing or murdered Indigenous persons.
