This free training will be offered to over thirty jurisdictions in Jefferson County, Alabama and will provide in-depth information on establishing a victim assistance program as well as how to utilize the funding opportunities available to your agency for victim assistance.
The information will be presented by agencies that offer advocacy to crime victims and survivors and law enforcement and victim interaction. The training will include a panel of survivors that will help you understand the importance of this program for your agency. In addition, the training will have representatives from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime, International Assistance of Chiefs of Police, and Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs talking about how you can utilize funding opportunities to establish a victim assistance program.
