With funding through the OVC 2024 Integrated Services for Minor Victims of Human Trafficking, the COALITION TO ABOLISH SLAVERY AND TRAFFICKING located in Los Angeles, California proposes a project titled “Integrated Services for Minor Victims of Human Trafficking in Los Angeles County”. The primary purpose is to provide services that address the needs of minor victims of sex and labor trafficking through a continuum of trauma-informed, culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and gender responsive services to ensure their safety, security, and healing and to prevent them from being directed to or involved in the justice system. The primary activities include case management activities conducted by an Intensive Care Case Manager, legal services through Cast staff attorneys and partners, the establishment of new community partnerships to help identify and respond to minor victims, and the provision of support services such as mental health support interventions, employment and education services, emergency medical treatment and other needs as identified by clients. The expected outcomes are addressing the needs of at least 30 minor victims of sex and labor trafficking over 3 years, facilitating 6 partner trainings reaching at least 120 individuals over the 3-year grant period, focusing on improving knowledge of human trafficking within minor populations, identification of minor victims, specific issues for underserved populations, and developmentally and culturally appropriate approaches to response and services. The geographic service area is LA County with a target audience of minor victims of sex and labor trafficking. There are no subrecipients for this award.
