Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $600,000)

First Fruit Ministries will provide transitional and rapid rehousing for victims of sex and labor trafficking experiencing homelessness in the Southeastern North Carolina (Brunswick, Pender, and New Hanover Counties, and the City of Wilmington). The program will focus on individuals experiencing mental health conditions or substance use disorders (past or active). The project will serve 20 households annually, providing housing assistance for 6–24 months, comprehensive case management, housing navigation, primary health care, substance use treatment, dental care, and trauma therapy specifically tailored for human trafficking.
