Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $800,000)

JusticeMatters will provide legal services, case management, and client support services to meet the individualized needs of victims of human trafficking. The purpose of the project is to expand and strengthen trauma-informed legal services, empowering victims to stabilize, participate in the criminal justice system as victim-witnesses, overcome barriers to accessing justice, access services, and attain safety - promoting recovery and wellbeing. Project activities include 1) providing immigration legal services, victim's rights legal services, individualized and trauma-informed case management services, and client support services, including information and referrals, to newly identified victim-survivors of human trafficking; 2) establishing new community-based referral partners and conducting quarterly meeting to facilitate information-sharing and collaboration among partners; 3) developing and delivering a training curriculum on victim identification and referral for local partners; and 4) implementing data collection, assessment, and evaluation activities to include annual refinement of a program logic model and implementation of client experience and satisfaction survey.
