The Tennessee Human Trafficking Task Force (THTTF) is a statewide, multidisciplinary task force consisting of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) as its lead law enforcement (LE) entity and the Tennessee Counter-Trafficking Alliance (TCTA) as the lead victim service (VS) entity, with fiscal and administrative support provided by the state administering agency and lead funder of victim services and criminal justice programs, the Office of Criminal Justice Programs (OCJP).
The project goal is to establish and sustain a statewide, multidisciplinary task force to enhance the state of Tennessee’s capacity to combat all forms of human trafficking. The THTTF is committed to following the Development and Operations Roadmap to meet each ECM objective. During the proposed 36-month project period, the THTTF will (a) add key positions required for statewide implementation and expansion of Task Force efforts to address trafficking in underserved, rural, regional areas, (b) continue a research and evaluation partnership with Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), (c) expand a Public & Community Engagement, Awareness & Training partnership with Engage Together® and Justice U, both of the Alliance for Freedom, Restoration, and Justice and (d) empower the state-mandated human trafficking (HT) Advisory Council, including prosecution partners, to build on existing strengths and implement strategies to address identified gaps negatively impacting HT efforts
