Award Information
- Greater Hartford Region
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $619,225)
The Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice (Law Enforcement Lead) and Connecticut Children’s Alliance, Inc. (Victim Service Lead) will co-lead the Regionalized Human Trafficking Recovery Taskforce (RHTRT).
RHTRT will continue to focus on the Greater Hartford Region of Connecticut (Hartford, West Hartford, Bloomfield, Manchester, Windsor, South Windsor, Glastonbury, and East Hartford) and expand to include Avon, Canton, and Farmington. The intersections of urban and suburban, affluence and poverty, along with its location between Boston and New York make the Greater Hartford Region a hot spot for human trafficking.
Over the next 3 years, RHTRT will continue to identify and serve victims, build competency and consistency in victim-centered, trauma informed investigations and prosecutions, and provide additional focus on labor trafficking. The RHTRT will continue cultivating key relationships critical to the expansion. The landscape mapping project will continue to enhance Connecticut’s response to all victims of human trafficking. RHTRT will continue to provide a comprehensive, multidisciplinary response to all victims of trafficking while enhancing existing protocols and response procedures, training to partners and community members, and a full array of services for victims.
