Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $200,000)

The purpose of this grant program is to provide culturally responsive services to crime victims and survivors from communities that have been historically underserved; marginalized; adversely affected by inequality; and disproportionately impacted by crime, violence, and victimization. With this funding, LEON COUNTY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ADVOCATES, INC., will support the basic needs of rural crime victims including housing, transportation, employment, food, and clothing in Leon County, Texas and the surrounding counties of Madison, Robertson, Brazos, and Grimes. The target population is isolated and there are no other public services available to meet these victims’ needs.
