Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2004, $499,155)
The purpose of this project, one of several sites under the Services for Trafficking Victims Discretionary Grant Program, is to develop, expand, or strengthen victim service programs for persons who have been identified by federal law enforcement as victims of severe forms of human trafficking of persons during the precertification phase. The Salvation Army Western Territory will provide comprehensive services to trafficking victims; build effective community service networks to respond to victims' needs; and provide training to increase the awareness among criminal justice entities, social service providers, and the public of the rights and needs of trafficking victims in AK, CA, ID, MT, WY, UT, CO, NV, NM and El Paso, Texas over an 18 month award period.
