Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $300,000)
The purpose of this award, one of several projects under the Services for Victims of Human Trafficking Grant Program, is to allow the City of Indianapolis/ Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department to provide timely, high-quality comprehensive services to pre-certified victims of severe forms of human trafficking and enhance interagency collaboration and coordination in the provision of services to such victims. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, in coordination with the The Family Justice Center/Julian Center, will provide comprehensive services to victims of sex and labor trafficking in Marion County, Indiana; build effective community service networks to respond to victims' needs; and provide training to increase awareness among criminal justice entities, social service providers, and the public of the rights and needs of trafficking victims over a two year period. nc/ncf
