Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2016, $375,000)

NAVAA proposes to support approximately 67 communities throughout the nation to
receive reimbursement for up to $5,000 each for approved expenses incurred while conducting public awareness activities in support of 2017 National Crime Victims' Rights Week (April 2 – 8, 2017). With OVC’s approval, NAVAA will seek to select at least one acceptable eligible project in each State (including the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and U.S. Territories). In addition to financial support, NAVAA plans to provide technical assistance to the selected projects in order to promote projects that are innovative, that encourage crime victim/survivor participation and that utilize collaborative approaches to promoting awareness of victims' rights and available services for all types of victims within each community. nca/ncf
