Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2018, $600,000)
This project will support approximately 90 communities throughout the nation to receive reimbursement for up to $5,000 each for approved expenses incurred while conducting public awareness activities in support of 2019 National Crime Victims Rights Week (April 7-13, 2019). With OVCs approval, the National Association of VOCA Assistance Administrators (NAVAA) will seek to select at least one acceptable eligible project in each State (including the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and U.S. Territories). In addition to financial support, NAVAA plans to provide technical assistance to the selected projects in order to promote projects that are innovative, encourage crime victim/survivor participation, and use collaborative approaches to promoting awareness of victims rights and available services for all types of victims within each community.
