Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2019, $900,000)

The goal of the FY 2019 Direct Services to Support Victims of Human Trafficking Program is to enhance the quality and quantity of services available to victims of human trafficking, as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000, as amended. Funding through this program supports direct services to victims of sex trafficking and labor trafficking, as well as for efforts to increase the capacity of communities to respond to human trafficking through the development of interagency partnerships, professional training, and public awareness activities over a three-year project period.

Interface Children & Family Services (Interface) will serve as the lead victim services provider in support of the Ventura County Human Trafficking Task Force (VCHTTF) to be established in Ventura County, California, in partnership with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO). Interface will enhance the quality and quantity of direct services available for HT victims of all types through the provision of all required Comprehensive Service Model services in-house or through partner organizations. In addition, Interface will co-lead the VCHTTF with VCSO, build capacity to identify and serve victims of labor trafficking and oversee action research with an experienced consultant.
