Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $900,000)

The purpose of this program is to develop, expand, or strengthen victim service programs for victims of human trafficking, to include enhancing the capacity of law enforcement and other stakeholders to identify victims and provide justice for those victims through the investigation and prosecution of their traffickers. This award made to the Wisconsin Department of Justice is funded under FY 2020 Enhanced Collaborative Model Task Force to Combat Human Trafficking which is designed to improve victim-centered responses and investigations in Eau Claire, Chippewa, Clark, Jackson, Trempealeau, Buffalo, Pepin, Dunn, Outagamie, Calumet and Winnebago counties. The Wisconsin Department of Justice-Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), will build upon state efforts to date addressing human trafficking in the State of Wisconsin, and is the lead law enforcement agency for this proposal. Project Respect, a project of ARC Community Services Inc. is the victim service applicant for the Northern region of WI. CA/NCF.
