Description
This program will support two purpose areas: PA 1) the development and/or enhancement of Enhanced Multi-disciplinary Teams (E-MDT) to strengthen the capacity and enhance these MDTs to better identify and respond to cases of elder financial exploitation and abuse and more comprehensively serve and support older victims and PA 2) Elder MDT Training and Technical Assistance (TA). Financial exploitation-focused E-MDTs are designed to improve the case review process and systems that touch the case or assist the victim. OVC will ensure up to 10 new E MDTs will join the prior two cohorts of OVC-funded grantees (ten in 2019 and nine in 2021) for a total of 29 E-MDTs. In 2019, with OVC funding, Weill Cornell Medicine/New York City Elder Abuse Center established the National Elder Abuse MDT Training and Technical Assistance Center (National Center) and this competitive solicitation will recompete this TA. Grantees will have access to online training and TA through the National Center.
