Description
Under the FY 2020 National Mass Violence Victimization Resource Center solicitation, Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) will maintain and build upon work and concepts developed under the FY 2017 award including continuing to partner with stakeholders to learn about best practices. Education, training, and resources will be further developed, implemented, and provided to the appropriate audiences. Technology initiatives include maintaining the website; deploying the Transcend mobile self-help application hosting online training curricula; rolling out the In-Incident Coordination Mobile Application with real-time messaging to connect law enforcement and victim services; and implementing a Virtual Resiliency Center to provide vital services to rural, impaired, and older victims without access to services. MUSC will also support communities impacted by mass violence incidents providing consultation and appropriate mental health training or services, deploying the AEAP application template, and developing protocols for training, supervising, and delivering telehealth counseling for mass violence victims.
