The Vicarious Trauma Toolkit includes tools and resources tailored specifically to the fields of victim services, emergency medical services, fire services, law enforcement, and other allied professionals, to help organizations mitigate the potentially negative effects of vicarious trauma, the exposure to the traumatic experiences of other people.

WILLIAM PETTY: A part of our responsibility as management is we have to, and we need to be held accountable for, how well do we take care of our employees. Once you're aware of that, then your being compelled to do something about it becomes a no-brainer. Of course, this is something that's part of my job. I owe this to not just my agency or my department, but I also owe it to my field.
