National Crime Victims’ Rights Week

National Crime Victims’ Rights Week

Since 1981, National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) has challenged the Nation to confront and remove barriers to achieving justice for all victims of crime. During NCVRW, we recognize the accomplishments of the victims’ rights movement and reflect on how far we have come.

Every April, OVC leads communities throughout the country in their annual observances of NCVRW. In 2025, NCVRW was observed from April 6 to 12. OVC has not yet announced the dates for the 2026 NCVRW commemoration.

Until the release of 2026 NCVRW materials, we encourage you to access the 2025 NCVRW Resource Guide to educate the public about victims' rights, protections, and services throughout the year. Start by visiting the How To Keep the Conversation Going section of the guide to discover resources and strategies that can be used to promote awareness throughout the rest of this year — and even further.

Sign up for the NCVRW Subscription List to receive important updates about NCVRW, including the release of the 2026 dates and Resource Guide materials.
