Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $475,081)
The goal of this project is to improve the care provided to sexual assault victims by improving the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) system response to all victims of sexual violence. This includes improving evidence collection, investigation, advocacy response, and prosecution by providing education and training to all SART members and by fostering continued SANE-SART program development and operation on the national level. This supplemental award will support the Sixth National SART Training Conference. In addition the grantee will administer in close coordination with OVC select recipients for SART team scholarships to attend the national training conference. It is anticipated that 25 teams of four to five team members will receive scholarships to attend the training conference, or a total of 100 individuals. In addition to the teams, this cooperative agreement will support up to 50 law enforcement scholarships for law enforcement officials to attend the national training conference. nc/ncf
