World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Message from OVC Director Jessica Hart

Today is the fifteenth anniversary of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. In the shadow of a pandemic that has disproportionately affected senior populations, we come together to raise awareness about elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

For too long elder abuse—a term that encompasses physical abuse, financial fraud, scams and exploitation, caregiver neglect and abandonment, psychological abuse, and sexual abuse—was a hidden epidemic. But as the global population of older persons grows, elder abuse is finally being treated as a public health crisis requiring collective action.

The Enhanced Collaborative Model to Combat Human Trafficking Program is designed to support the development and enhancement of multidisciplinary human trafficking task forces that implement collaborative approaches to combat all forms of human trafficking, including sex and labor trafficking of both foreign nationals and U.S. citizens (of all genders and ages), within the United States.

The purpose of the Enhanced Collaborative Model to Combat Human Trafficking Program is to support the development and enhancement of multidisciplinary human trafficking task forces that implement collaborative approaches to combating all forms of human trafficking within the United States' sex trafficking and labor trafficking of foreign nationals and U.S. citizens (of all sexes and ages).

BJA FY 19 Enhanced Collaborative Model (ECM) Task Force to Combat Human Trafficking: Supporting Law Enforcement's Role

Closing Date

The purpose of this solicitation is to support law enforcement entities in building capacity and operational effectiveness as a core member of a collaborative, multidisciplinary human trafficking task force. Eligible applicants must operate as part of a multidisciplinary human trafficking task force and identify and partner with victim service providers to offer comprehensive services to all victims of human trafficking.
