Crime prevention

This nonprofit organization works to prevent campus violence and crimes and to assist campus victims in the enforcement of their legal rights.

The National Criminal Justice Association represents state, Tribal, and local governments on crime prevention and crime control issues. Its members represent all facets of the criminal and juvenile justice community, including law enforcement, corrections, prosecution, defense, courts, victim-witness services, and educational institutions to federal, state, and local elected officials.

Besides providing services and benefits to its members, AARP is an advocacy organization for issues that affect individuals ages 50 and over. The website provides information on topics such as identity theft, elder abuse, fraud, and more.

NIJ's research on Tribal crime and justice seeks to—

1. provide an accurate reporting of crime and violence;
2. provide reliable, valid estimates of the scope of the problem; and
3. identify barriers to and possible solutions for dealing with these significant public safety issues.

In an effort to educate businesses and the public about the impact of fraud, as well as to promote basic steps that can be taken to recognize, report, and reduce the risk of becoming a victim of fraudulent activities, the Office of Justice Programs presents this online compilation of resources addressing the fraud.

Coalition Against Trafficking in Women is an organization that promotes women's human rights by working internationally to combat sexual exploitation in all its forms.

SAPRO is responsible for oversight of the U.S. Department of Defense's sexual assault policy. SAPRO works hand-in-hand with the military and civilian communities to develop and implement innovative prevention and response programs. This office provides services to victims of crime, including specialized services to victims of sexual assault.

The National Resource Center on Domestic Violence provides technical assistance, training, and specialized materials and projects designed to enhance domestic violence intervention and prevention strategies.
