This initiative promotes awareness of healthy dating relationships by making vital resources accessible to help teens experiencing dating violence and offering tips on preventing abusive relationships. The Loveisrespect.org helpline provides 24/7 phone (866-331-9474), text (LOVEIS to 22522), and online chat services to victims of dating violence; service providers and allied professionals; and concerned parents, friends and other members of the community.
Dating Matters focuses on teaching 11-14-year-olds healthy relationship skills before they start dating and reducing behaviors that increase the risk for dating violence, like substance abuse and sexual risk-taking. Dating Matters is evidence-based and includes prevention strategies for individuals, peers, families, schools, and neighborhoods.
This ongoing, nationally representative survey gathers timely and reliable national and state-level data on sexual violence, stalking, and intimate partner violence victimization from adult women and men in the United States. It describes who is most likely to experience these forms of violence and information on the impacts and health consequences associated with these types of violence.
