Utilizing dogs as an emotional support tool is becoming more common in many professional fields. This webinar will outline the process the Louisville Metro Police Department Victim Services Unit used to implement the department’s first therapy dog program. We will present challenges to the program’s development and benefits, walk through the process from conception to implementation, and share how you can create a similar program. Learn the benefits of a therapy dog program within a law enforcement setting How to develop standard operating procedures for therapy dog program How to partner with community organizations and your command staff to support a program.
