Privacy and confidentiality are at the heart of survivor trust, but the real-world situations advocates face around information sharing are rarely straightforward. Requests come from partners, agencies, supervisors, or command staff, and knowing what can be shared and what must remain protected is essential for both safety and compliance.

In this webinar, the Justice Clearinghouse will break down the difference between privacy and confidentiality and talk through how to navigate consent, disclosure, and documentation in everyday advocacy work. Through case examples and discussion, participants will learn practical strategies for responding to information requests, safeguarding sensitive details, and staying aligned with ethical and legal expectations.
