Safety Planning With Pets

Safety planning is a critical step to finding freedom from domestic abuse, and the most effective plans take the entire family into account. For many survivors, this includes creating a path to safety that also protects their pets. 

This Justice Clearinghouse webinar explores seven practical, real-world strategies for building pet-inclusive safety plans that meet survivors where they are. 

Attendees will gain tools and insights to—

• lead a client through seven steps for creating a pet-inclusive safety plan,
• access and update a pet’s stored microchip information,
• determine whether pets can be included in domestic violence protective orders in their state, and
• help clients establish proof of pet ownership.
