Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2006, $449,793)
The purpose of this award, one of several projects under the Services for Trafficking Victims Discretionary Grant Program, is to allow Karidat Social Services to provide victim services to persons who have been identified by federal law enforcement as victims of a severe form of trafficking during the pre-certification period. Karidat Social Services will provide comprehensive services to trafficking victims in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands; build effective community service networks to respond to victims' needs; and provide training to increase awareness among criminal justice entities, social service providers, and the public of the rights and needs of trafficking victims over a three year period. ca/ncf
