OVC FY 2022 Bridging Inequities – Legal Services and Victims’ Rights Enforcement for Underserved Communities

OVC seeks applications for funding to increase access to legal assistance for victims of crime in underserved communities. This project will support a coordinating lead organization to competitively select approximately 20 legal fellows to be hosted by organizations across the Nation and located in underserved communities to provide civil legal services to victims of crime.

Understanding the Effects of the Pandemic for Domestic Violence Victims

Hear from Federal Government representatives, researchers, and service providers about how COVID-19 has impacted the occurrence of domestic violence across the country as they cover—

  • an analysis of domestic violence calls,
  • the inequities experienced by underserved populations, and
  • the challenges service providers experienced and their innovative responses to help those in need.

OVC FY 2021 National Center for Culturally Responsive Victim Services

Closing Date
The program provides for the development, operation, and management of OVC’s National Center for Culturally Responsive Victim Services. The Center will facilitate the delivery of national-scale, high quality training and technical assistance to increase access to victim services and victim compensation for victims of crime in areas that have been historically underserved, marginalized, and adversely affected by inequality, including communities of color.

OVC FY 2021 Expanding Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Services to Victims of Sexual Assault

OVC is seeking applications to establish or expand sexual assault examination programs, including sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) programs and sexual assault forensic examiner (SAFE) programs that focus on improving the provision of sexual assault care using a community-based approach, such as through a campus community, nonprofit, community-based, and/or tribe-affiliated victim services provider.

National Resource Center for Reaching Victims

The Center is a one-stop shop where victim service providers, culturally specific organizations, criminal justice professionals, and policymakers may get information and expert guidance to enhance their capacity to identify, reach, and serve all victims, especially those from communities that too often have less access to healing services and avenues to justice.
